Embarcadero Broadens Reach of Application Development Portfolio With New TechXtend Reseller Partnership

Master Reseller Relationship to Increase Customer Access to Multi-Device Development Tools

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 12/18/13 -- Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of software solutions for application and database development, today announced TechXtend, an information technology solutions provider, as a Master Reseller for Embarcadero's software development solutions. This enhanced partnership extends an existing 10-year relationship between the two companies.

With the rise of mobile devices, there is a huge opportunity and need for developers to create mobile applications that can function seamlessly across diverse platforms, form factors and devices. Embarcadero's portfolio of application development tools allows developers to tackle the challenges of multi-device development without compromising performance or user experience. The extended Embarcadero-TechXtend partnership will allow Embarcadero to meet the market demand for its solutions by leveraging TechXtend's extensive customer base in the United States and Canada.

"We've seen explosive demand from the development community for solutions that can meet today's multi-device development challenges. As such, we're intensifying our channel presence and partnering with those who understand the unique needs of today's modern developer," said Tony de la Lama, senior vice president of marketing and R&D at Embarcadero Technologies. "TechXtend is just that kind of partner, they have a special expertise and long standing success in selling software development tools to commercial, government and academic customers. Their broad customer network and deep understanding of this changing market will be invaluable."

TechXtend and Embarcadero have a successful relationship stretching back over 10 years. Formerly known as Programmer's Paradise, TechXtend has sold the Embarcadero application development tools to its customers -- beginning with Borland and then CodeGear, continuing after that company was acquired by Embarcadero. Under the terms of the new agreement, TechXtend will expand Embarcadero's market reach and distribute its extensive portfolio of application development solutions, including RAD Studio XE5, Delphi XE5, C++Builder XE5 and InterBase XE3, to its North America network.

"We are thrilled Embarcadero has selected to expand its partnership with us as the company takes its channel strategy to the next level," said Shawn Giordano, vice president of sales at TechXtend. "We both have a deep familiarity with the evolving needs of the software developer community and the common goal of helping developers meet today's cross-platform development challenges. The combination of Embarcadero's innovative technology and our experience in serving the application development community will help ensure that our customers have access to the very best tools they need."
