Gravitant, a cloud services brokerage and management company, today announced that it has been named a 2013 Laureate of IDG’s Computerworld Honors Program for its ability to help organizations transform their IT departments and simplify the use of cloud technology. Computerworld’s annual Honors Program recognizes companies that demonstrate how IT can advance organizations' ability to compete, innovate, communicate and prosper.
Computerworld Honors Program Laureates were selected from more than 700 nominations to become one of 269 Laureates from 29 countries. Gravitant was chosen based on demonstrated success stories of customers using the Gravitant cloudMatrix cloud brokerage and management platform. While the promise of cloud computing is bright, it is often complex to use and manage. Gravitant’s technology tackles the complexity and provides a practical path to cloud adoption, thus helping customers truly realize the benefits of cloud computing including agility and cost optimization.
"Gravitant was founded by a team of former Fortune 500 executives that really understand the challenges associated with cloud computing, and are passionate about simplifying cloud IT," said Mohammed Farooq, CEO, Gravitant. "We are proud that our cloud-revolutionizing technology has been recognized not only by enterprises and government agencies around the world, but also by a distinguished judging panel of global industry leaders."
“Technology continues to play a pivotal role in transforming how business and society functions. For the past 25 years the Computerworld Honors Program has had the privilege of celebrating innovative IT achievements,” said John Amato, vice president & publisher, IDG’s Computerworld. “Computerworld is honored to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the 2013 class of Laureates and to share their work. These projects demonstrate how IT can advance organizations' ability to compete, innovate, communicate and prosper.”
The Computerworld Honors Program awards will be presented at the Gala Evening and Awards Ceremony on June 3, 2013 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
