Coverity Named SIIA Software CODiE Award Finalist for Best Security Solution

Coverity® Security Advisor earns prestigious software industry recognition

SAN FRANCISCO, March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Coverity, Inc., the leader in development testing, today announced that Coverity Security Advisor was named a finalist for the 2013 SIIA Software CODiE Awards for Best Security Solution. The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for 27 years. The awards have more than 75 categories and are organized by industry focus of Content, Education and Software.

This year there were 27 software categories, including 12 new and updated categories that reflect the continued growth and evolution of cloud computing, mobile, big data and video. Winners will be announced at a special Awards luncheon on May 9, in San Francisco, during the All About the Cloud conference.

Coverity Security Advisor enables organizations to build application security testing earlier in the software development lifecycle—as code is being written—arming developers with accurate, actionable information on potential security defects so they can be fixed before they become exploitable vulnerabilities. Coverity Security Advisor includes a patent-pending remediation engine which provides developers specific guidance on how to fix a security defect in the context of their code, and utilizes the Coverity SAVE® Static Analysis Verification Engine to intelligently test code and accurately identify security defects in Java web applications. Coverity Security Advisor is a product within the Coverity Development Testing Platform.
