FALLS CHURCH, Va., Nov. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Brian Stygar, a technology industry veteran and expert in border security technologies, has been named 2012 Government Contractor Chief Technology Officer Innovator of the Year.
The award competition, sponsored by the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and Washington Technology Magazine, recognizes CTOs for "critical contributions to achieving results for their customers and their leadership within their own companies."
Stygar is Kore Federal's Chief Technology Officer and also is responsible for Kore Federal's Department of Homeland Security and intelligence community division, which accounts for more than 60 percent of the company's revenues.
Stygar is managing efforts led by Kore Federal to design and implement cloud computing, enterprise mobility, advanced analytics and automated risk assessment solutions for its border security, intelligence and defense customers. He has introduced several technology innovations for Kore Federal's customers, among whom he is a recognized as a thought leader in leveraging technology to improve border security. On behalf of DHS and the Department of State, Kore Federal has participated in delegations to assist immigration and customs agencies in ten countries across five continents to complete foreign outreach, assessment and capacity building exercises to help improve the use of technology by U.S. allies to identify criminal and terrorist activity.
