Aquilent Gives Federal Agencies Affordable, Strategic Cloud Options

Every agency should have a cloud strategy in place, notes CEO

“Aquilent is thrilled to have the opportunity to offer the AWS GovCloud (US) Region through the GSA IT-70 Schedule,” stated Aquilent CEO, David Fout, as Aquilent announced that it has added Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud (US) Region to its GSA Information Technology Schedule-70.

“At this point, every agency should have a cloud strategy in place. Regardless of the stage, Aquilent isuniquely qualified to offer a full spectrum of services to support the government’s cloud needs,” Fout added.

According to Fout this powerful combination of Aquilent, AWS, and GSA "reduces security concerns, simplifies procurement, and eases implementation, therefore removing the barriers encumbering the Federal Government’s move to the cloud"."

He broke down the advantages for agencies as follows:

  • Significantly reduces security concerns: Now you can leverage the FISMA compliant FederalCommunity Cloud: AWS GovCloud (US) Region.
  • Easy to procure: AWSGovCloud (US) Region is now available on GSA IT-70, which is pre-competed and available to the entire government.
  • Eases Implementation: Moving to the cloud can be challenging, and requires experience focused on the Federal government. Aquilent is the only provider of end-to-end Federal cloud services. Aquilent’s cloud-centric offerings include cloud strategy, architecture, migration, support, security, and application development.

AWS GovCloud (US) Region, said Fout, gives government agencies and contractors the ability to move more sensitive workloads into the cloud by addressing their specific regulatory and compliance requirements such as FISMA, ITAR, HIPAA, SSAE 16/SOC1, ISO/IEC 27001, and PCI DSS Level 1.

Aquilent's proven approach to achieving the government’s “Cloud First” philosophy combines technology strategy and managed services creating a roadmap for long term success. Aquilent also works with its customers to ensure full visibility into cloud assets, and provides an affordable, scalable delivery strategy that meets strict federal budget requirements.

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...

IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
