WASHINGTON, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- In less than a month since its launch, professional services marketplace Y to X (http://www.ytox.com/) has gone from hundreds to thousands of page-views every day. The site has become popular among freelancers in just about every field. Now Y to X is looking for businesses and individuals in need of their help.
In a survey of 100 business decision-makers, Y to X found 64% had never used the Internet to search for professional services. At the same time only 38% were satisfied with their current method of locating professionals. So, to encourage more people to look online, Y to X is offering rewards to those who post projects and hire Y to X members to complete their work.
Freelancers pay a small fee to submit responses to work project ads. If a project owner hires any Y to X-listed professional, they'll receive a portion of all the fees generated by their ad. "The system is designed to attract a community of professionals and small business owners who are serious and reliable," states Y to X founder James Richardson. "Quality projects and professional listings are rewarded and featured more prominently based on their popularity with other users."
The Y to X community so far has been very receptive to the new methods available to help them connect with each other. "We've received a lot of positive feedback about our open communication policy," continues Richardson. "It seems a lot of people were frustrated with other services that control payments and communications so they can collect a piece of the pie."
To make the outsourcing process easier, Y to X focuses solely on matching skills with requirements. Once a connection is made, Y to X moves out of the way and allows outsourcers and freelancers to communicate, negotiate, and conduct business however they wish. "We charge zero commissions and have no financial interest in who our members hire or do work for," explains Richardson. "We do not attempt to reinvent the way people already conduct their business. Y to X simply exists to facilitate an introduction."
Any business or individual who wishes to post a work project ad simply requests a Y to X password and supplies a valid e-mail address before posting. All responses are automatically forwarded to the owner's e-mail. "Our goal is to make it as simple as possible for people to find qualified, competent, and reliable service professionals -- whether it's across town or on the other side of the planet," finished Richardson.
