GTSI Forms Strategic Relationship with Terremark to Deliver Cloud for Govt

Solution allows IT infrastructure to respond in real-time to government needs

GTSI Corp., an IT infrastructure solutions and services provider to government, on Thursday announced a strategic relationship with Terremark Worldwide, a global provider of IT infrastructure services to deliver Enterprise Cloud Solutions to federal, state, and local government. The relationship will also allow GTSI to expand its cloud computing infrastructure offerings and immediately increase the availability of enterprise cloud-based solutions to government agencies through the Solutions for Enterprise Wide Procurement (SEWP) and Information Technology Enterprise Solutions (ITES) 2H contract vehicles.

The Cloud Computing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model offered by GTSI and Terremark allows agencies to address increasing demands on government IT to deliver services more effectively, reduce energy usage, facilitate Telework, and decrease operational costs while maintaining security. This new approach enables agencies to:

  • More efficiently share and use IT resources such as compute, storage, and network capacity;
  • Rapidly deploy on-demand capacity to support business needs;
  • Increase flexibility by easy access to bursting capacity during spikes in web traffic;
  • Offer cost management transparency; and
  • Provide a high level of service and security.

"The shift to cloud computing allows agencies to harness the power of the Internet to improve services to end-users and citizens, while freeing up scarce capital, staff resources, and IT assets for mission-critical investments," said Mohamed Elrefai, GTSI VP Enterprise Solutions Group and Marketing. "Our approach to cloud computing permits agencies to deliver IT services addressing the agency's mission while remaining in full control of their IT environment. We're excited to partner with Terremark to deliver secure, cloud-based solutions tailored to government customers who are looking to take advantage of shared, on-demand, and self-service provisioning infrastructure services. We're also delighted that our partner, Terremark, is recognized by industry and Gartner as a leader in web hosting and cloud infrastructure services."

To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. It’s clear that traditional IT monitoring and management approaches, designed after all for on-premises data centers, are falling short in ...
We are seeing a major migration of enterprises applications to the cloud. As cloud and business use of real time applications accelerate, legacy networks are no longer able to architecturally support cloud adoption and deliver the performance and security required by highly distributed enterprises. These outdated solutions have become more costly and complicated to implement, install, manage, and maintain.SD-WAN offers unlimited capabilities for accessing the benefits of the cloud and Internet. ...
The deluge of IoT sensor data collected from connected devices and the powerful AI required to make that data actionable are giving rise to a hybrid ecosystem in which cloud, on-prem and edge processes become interweaved. Attendees will learn how emerging composable infrastructure solutions deliver the adaptive architecture needed to manage this new data reality. Machine learning algorithms can better anticipate data storms and automate resources to support surges, including fully scalable GPU-c...

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...

Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.
