GSI Commerce Solution Utilized in New Bath & Body Works Online Retail Store

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GSI Commerce Inc. today announced that Bath & Body Works, a division of Limited Brands , earlier this month launched an online retail store (http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/) using an e-commerce solution that includes core technology and fulfillment services provided by GSI Commerce.

"Limited Brands is one of the most admired and successful retailers and we are very excited to partner with them to provide an e-commerce solution for Bath & Body Works," said Damon Mintzer, executive vice president of sales for GSI Commerce.

The online store provides customers with help-to-shop features such as shop by brand, fragrance, or solution. The shop by solution feature is particularly noteworthy in that the Web store suggests products to customers based on their comfort needs. For example, shoppers are shown product solutions that can help ease stress, reduce fatigue or help with dry skin. The online store also offers a "create your own gift" feature, which helps shoppers create customized gifts for personal care activities. For example, a shopper can create the gift of a "perfect shower," and the Web store will display recommended products for purchase that will create the perfect shower gift. Shoppers can choose from several personal care activities including create a "home spa treatment" or the "perfect pedicure."

"We believe there is a significant direct-to-consumer opportunity for Bath & Body Works, and GSI Commerce has the expertise to help us grow this important retailing channel," said Ruben Pinchanski, executive vice president of Limited Brands Direct. Prior to the recent launch of its online store, Bath & Body Works sold its beauty and personal care products through its 1,563 stores nationwide.
