Government Cloud: Press Release

Director of Cloud & Virtualization at Vertica to Speak at 1st GovIT Expo

Director of Cloud and Virtualization for Vertica, Omer Trajman, will speak at GovIT Expo

How can government organizations offer public data sets cost effectively yet create tremendous impact in the private sector?

That is the question that will be asked and answered by Omer Trajman, Director of Cloud and Virtualization for Vertica, in a breakout session that he will be giving next month at SYS-CON's 1st Annual Government IT Conference & Expo (GovITExpo), which will take place on October 6, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

The session will be entitled "Accessing Public Data via the Cloud" and Trajman be discussing how, for example, private clouds such as Amazon's Web Services (AWS) are now used to host st public data sets free of charge and available on demand.

"Along with elastic compute services, AWS users can create private copies to combine with their own data for analysis. From census data used to identify target areas for private investment to mortgage data being analyzed to help manage bad debt, the proliferation of readily accessible public data is becoming a key economic driver," notes Trajman.

You can attend both Trajman's's session and the entire event free by use of the guest code VIPguest here [case sensitive]
